On Thursday 15th October 2015, iF3 is back in London for the second year running. Here’s the lowdown on why this is one ski party not to be missed!
The International Freeski Film Festival – iF3 – first came into being 8 years ago in Montreal, as a way to bring snow-lovers together and allow them to share in the screening of freeskiing movies, explanding ski culture to new audiences, and recognising the efforts of the talented teams producing these films every season. Uniting athletes, brands, music and art into one night of partying, the concept quickly caught fire, and in 2014 the UK joined Canada & France as the third chapter of the festival. In fact, it was so successful that iF3 are back again for 2015!
With 700 of the capital’s most committed snow lovers descending on the Clapham Grand for one night of epic ski-film showcasing, DJ sets, prize giveaways, brand showcases, mountain food, partying and the who’s who of global freeskiing heading in to join us, iF3 is definitely not a night to be missed!
October 15th is the night to come and catch up with other snow-loving friends, or get involved with the beer pong tournament and make new ones! Skiers (and boarders) of all abilities are welcome, so get on the après and don’t be shy!
The Movie Lineup:
1. K2 Skis – Misconceptions
Homegrown production team Perspective Studios will be dropping the world première of their latest project – Misconceptions – in Clapham next week. Featuring some of the top European freeskiers – including K2 Skis’ Callum Welch, Tyler Harding, Mike Rowlands & Hamish McDougall – Misconceptions takes on the stereotypes of action-sports athletes, placing an emphasis on the professionalism and dedication of these new-school skiers as they travel around the world pushing the sport they love.
With this being the première, expect to see the K2 boys (and the team behind the lens) present on the night!

2. Ticking Bomb
Next Generation Media are hot out of Norway, and will be bringing their third full-length feature to iF3 London for the first screening outside of Scandinavia. Produced over the 2014/15 season by Ola Sollie, Fredrik Torsvik & Edward Knai, Ticking Bomb brings together a huge selection of Norway’s greatest freestyle skiers (including Emil Larsen, Kristian Vereide, Øystein Bråten, Christopher Strande, Thomas Trads, Jens Johnsen and many more) for a showcase spanning from the streets of Oslo, all the way to Boulder, Colorado; showing the world just how serious a force Norway is when it comes to freeskiing.
3. Line’s Travelling Circus – Fried Ice
Line’s Travelling Circus needs no introduction with Will Wesson and Andy Parry leading Line’s band of misfit pro skiers in (surely) the only reality TV ski show in the world. With just a few cameras, some skis and a well-stocked phonebook, the boys travel across the world discovering (and completely shredding up) resorts and locations that are often unknown beyond their local area. Fried Ice is the latest episode in Will & Andy’s 7th season, seeing them fly on from Australia into Japan to take on the culture, style and insane powder that makes the country such a unique place to ski!
Will and Andy will be popping down to iF3 for the night to present the episode and answer any questions you may have for them. We’d suggest challenging them to some beer pong later in the night to get all the behind-the-scenes stories…

4. Kye Petersen – In Search
Certified powderhound Kye Petersen has spent the last season working with sponsors Patagonia, Oakley, Monster Energy and 4FRNT on his own project – the aptly-titled In Search. If you crave the backcountry, massive hits and freeskiing at the limit of what’s possible, this is a must-watch film this season.
5. Legs of Steel – Passenger
Undoubtedly one of the biggest productions this year, Passenger sees the Legs of Steel team returning stronger than ever. Featuring 20 of the sport’s best pro-athletes (sometimes at the same time…), LoS are set to deliver more of the big mountain blasts, backcountry booters, park progression and team trains that have come to be synonymous with our pre-season stoke. Watch the trailer below and tell us you’re not excited.
In fact, don’t tell us – tell the LoS boys when they all turn up on the night…
