Tickets for the UK Premiere of UnReal (Saturday 27th June) are now available – Book Now
Hot on the social media feeds today, Anthill Films and Teton Gravity Research have got everyone all sorts of excited for Summer with their release of the latest trailer for UnReal; a new collaboration that’s ready to once again reinvent what we now come to expect from action sports movies.
Suffice to say; regardless of whether you’ve ever tried mountain biking – or even find it interesting – you’ll be captivated by the sheer vibrancy and beauty of this brand new trailer:

Few areas of film-making seem to have benefited more from the onslaught of new camera technology in the past 5 years than the action sports industry. In just a few years we’ve seen pictures get 25x sharper, slow motion get 5x slower, and obviously enjoyed the freedom that’s come with action cameras, drones and (soon) 360-degree video.
The first films of this progression – 2011’s Art of Flight and All.I.Can. were heralded as groundbreaking at their release – taking a format that had largely stood for 20 years and made something completely new. Yet just four years later, they seem virtually outdated. For those of us who love lifestyle sports this is only a good thing though, and it’s amazing that the same week a full-on, real Hollywood movie reveals it will be featuring extreme sports shot in Imax 3D, one of the first proper 4K mountain bike movies shows off its wares.
UnReal is released on the 18th June, and you can bet we’ll be finding a 4K screen and watching it at the first possible opportunity. There’s even a UK première at the Arnolfini in Bristol (tickets on sale here), and if you can make it there, we’ll pretty much guarantee you’ll leave impressed…the question is, with the current pace of change in these films…what will we expect by 2020?
